As mentioned in the book THE CRAFT AND THE MAKERS by Gestalten, a new approach to fashion is emerging, returning to the tradition of craftsmanship.
Saverio Palatella embraces and joins this movement, which presents itself as a new force in the fashion world, where the greatest quality an object can have is linked to the manual intervention that the object itself requires.
Thus begins Saverio Palatella’s artistic project “Be Imperfect,” which was presented on July 30th as part of the event calendar of the La TendaExperience Fashion and Art project, a series of events from May to October 2015 that tell the story of this famous boutique through the intersection of art and fashion.
The connection with art in this event is with the artist Umberto Chiodi, who, for the occasion, created three works measuring 100 x 70 centimeters titled Box I, II, III. These are three collages on plexiglass, where Saverio Palatella’s garments become an integral part of the composition of the work. What emerges is the ideal image of a body, now liberated, now imprisoned, caressed and tormented by natural elements and sharp forms that recall the artificial world.
